ANDROID COMPANION · SHIZUKU REQUIRED
DPHMS Helper
Less digging through settings when your connection drops. A small monitoring companion for your Shizuku-powered tools.
What v1.4.4 does
- Checks whether Shizuku is running every 30 seconds and displays status in a foreground notification.
- While Shizuku is running and authorized, attempts to re-enable wireless debugging through the shell.
- Use the network as-is (improved in 1.4.2). Tick one box and Helper works on whatever Wi-Fi you are already on, with no network name or password saved. When a splash page appears, Helper first looks for the page's own "use network as is / without internet" option and taps it for you. If the page has no such option, it falls back to the login form and submits the username and password you saved. Otherwise, save your Wi-Fi name and password once.
- Save your Wi-Fi name and password once. Helper joins that network through the Shizuku shell (open, WPA2 and WPA3), rejoins after every drop, and confirms the connection before reporting success.
- Optional splash-page login: enter the portal's form address and field values and Helper submits them whenever Android reports the internet is gated. This works for simple form portals. Portals that need JavaScript, CAPTCHA, SMS codes or a tap-through page cannot be automated.
- Turns on Developer options, USB debugging and wireless debugging through the shell on every check, and reports whether each one actually confirmed.
- Offers a battery-optimization exemption shortcut and a manual status console. Checks run off the UI thread and unconfirmed attempts are reported as unconfirmed, never as success.
- When Shizuku stops, the notification opens Shizuku so you can restart it.
- New in 1.4.4: the title and console header now show the version you actually have installed. 1.4.3 still displayed "v1.4.1" on screen by mistake; the features were already in 1.4.3.
- New in 1.4.3: when a splash page has no "use network as is" choice (many hotel pages only show a passcode box), Helper makes Android treat that Wi-Fi as validated so the sign-in prompt stops and Wi-Fi stays your connection. Android's own "Use this network as is" button is a hidden system call that no app can press, so this is the closest safe equivalent. It does not bypass the passcode: real internet still needs the hotel code. Helper puts Android's normal settings back the moment Wi-Fi drops.
- New in 1.4.2: finds the "use network as is" choice even when a splash page hides it in a three-dot menu, and no longer stops on portals that redirect to an address without http://.
Read before buying
Android 8+ and Shizuku are required. Android 15 is the development target, not a guarantee across devices.
Helper joins your chosen network with the Shizuku shell's Wi-Fi command instead of Android's restricted reconnect API. Support for that command varies by Android build and carrier-customized firmware, so the app verifies the result and tells you when a join could not be confirmed. Recovery pauses while airplane mode is enabled. This app cannot automatically restart a stopped Shizuku server, bypass Android permission prompts, or guarantee wireless debugging stays on over cellular.
Wireless debugging needs a connected Wi-Fi network to stay active; Android turns it off when Wi-Fi is off. Helper turns Wi-Fi back on and re-enables it, but it cannot keep wireless debugging alive with Wi-Fi fully unavailable. Reboot restart is best-effort. Android may restrict the background service. A partial wake lock may increase battery use. The as-is button and the splash login only work on plain HTML pages: a link, a form button or a login form. Portals that use JavaScript, a CAPTCHA, an SMS code or a tap-through "Accept" button are not supported, and Helper reports that instead of claiming success.
First setup: install Shizuku, start it, grant Helper access, allow notifications, then optionally request the battery exemption and start monitoring.
